What is dp 1.2?

DisplayPort 1.2 is a digital display interface standard developed by VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association). It is the second version of DisplayPort, succeeding DisplayPort 1.1a.

DisplayPort 1.2 offers several improvements over its predecessor, including increased bandwidth capabilities, higher data transfer rates, and better support for high-resolution displays. It supports up to 4K resolution at 60Hz or 1080p resolution at 144Hz.

Some of the key features of DisplayPort 1.2 include Multi-Stream Transport (MST) which allows multiple displays to be connected to a single output, High Bit Rate 2 (HBR2) mode which increases the data transfer rate to 5.4 Gbps per lane, and support for 3D video and deep color depths.

DisplayPort 1.2 is compatible with both DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort connectors and cables. It is commonly used in the latest computer monitors, laptops, and graphics cards to provide high-quality video and audio output.
